What is Hawaiian Koa?

Hawaiian Koa is an exotic hardwood found only on the highland slopes of Hawaii’s volcanoes. It has long been highly prized and sought after by craftspeople around the world. From koa’s wild color variations to its signature curl or flame figuring, it provides one of the finest materials available to any woodworker. At Kamuela Hardwoods, we are proud to be able to offer a limited supply of this prized Hawaiian resource and do what we can to help ensure every piece is utilized.
